There are three simple steps to finding your subscribers on other networks and breaking free from X. The HelloQuitX platform will guide you through the process, taking less than 5 minutes of your time.
BlueSky and Mastodon are social networks based on open protocols, which means that with a user’s authorization, it’s possible to perform automated operations on their account, such as following new users.
To reconnect a BlueSky or Mastodon account with the community it had on X, you need three things:
– 1. the list of users who were connected with this account on X
– 2. correspondence between the user names on X and their equivalent on BlueSky or Mastodon (some users take advantage of the creation of a new account to change their name)
– 3. the account owner’s authorization to automatically reconnect his or her BlueSky or Mastodon account to the people he or she followed on X. If an account has invited its followers on X to do the same, they will also reconnect to it, and its owner will be reunited with his or her followers.
HelloQuitX will follow three simple steps:
Step 1) [1 min] Retrieve your X archive The list of all your subscribers on X and the accounts you follow is contained in your X archive. It is X’s legal obligation to provide it to you and you can obtain it by following these instructions. Please note that it can take up to 48 hours for X to give you your archive.
Step 2) [4 min] Share your subscriber list with HelloQuitX and record the correspondence between your accounts The correspondence between accounts on X and BlueSky/Mastodon will take place directly on the HelloQuitX platform from December 23rd on http://app.HelloQuitX.com. This platform will also enable you to securely share the part of the X archive that contains the list of your subscribers on X. If you don’t have a BlueSky or Mastodon account, here’s how to create one.
Step 3. The great reconnection On January 20, with your consent, the HelloQuitX platform will automatically reconnect all those who have signed up. If an account has invited its followers from X to participate in HelloQuitX, they will also reconnect to it, and the owner will automatically be reunited with his or her followers. That’s why it’s so important to invite your followers to take part in HelloQuitX! We also aim to transfer X’s most important tweets and lists. We also aim to transfer the most important tweets and X lists.
The HelloQuitX platform stores no passwords and only the data required for the operation. By default, all data shared with the platform will be destroyed by CNRS once reconnection is complete.
