Why January 20?
X’s contribution to the election of Donald Trump has brought to light an open secret: democratic processes are at the mercy of the major social networks. META’s (Facebook) recent stance has driven the point home.
Democracies must react if they are not to disappear. On January 20, they’re taking back control!
HelloQuitteX and CNRS/ISC-PIF are launching an international movement to reappropriate digital spaces by putting online a technological bridge between the old centralized, locked-down, anti-democratic social networks, and the new generation of decentralized, open social networks compatible with functional democracies.
From January 20, this gateway will enable X users to recreate a digital identity on BlueSky or Mastodon, similar to the one they had on X (same subscribers, retrieval of important tweets).
Gradually, this gateway will become compatible with other networks such as Facebook, to complete the digital emancipation of their user-citizens.
On January 20, let’s say no to opinion manipulation via social networks.
On January 20, let’s implement portability on X for a resilient democracy!
